It’s been a while since I updated. Work has been going well. I am definitely kept busy. I am still finding it enjoyable. Trials are fun and videography is a nice break from the stress of trial. Overall, a great combination. I haven’t worked at the winery for several months but I let them know that I was available if they needed help.
Lately, I have been on a cooking jag. Lots of good food coming out of my kitchen. Since I have been posting things on facebook that would be useful to post here as well, I figured I might as well post both places so there’s a comprehensive record of what I’ve been cooking.
Tonight, I am planning on a simple southwest style chili. Got the idea from Guy Fieri’s Dragon Breath Chili. Probably going to start with his recipe and see how I can tweak it depending on what ingredients both I and the grocery store have.
I wound up doing a workout today from Crossfit. Well, I should say I did as much as possible. Here’s what I did:
With a continuously running clock, squat for 60 seconds. Subtract the number of squats completed from 60, and do that many push-ups in minute two. In minute three, squat again, subtracting the number completed from 60. Do that number of sit-ups in minute four. Minute five is squatting again, and minute six push-ups.
The pattern is squats, push-ups, squats, sit-ups, squats, push-ups, etc. The goal is to stay within the workout’s formula for as long as possible.
Don’t do more than 60 squats in any round.
In any case, stay moving for at least 12 minutes.
Now, as I’m getting into shape, I halved the number of push-ups I did since I wasn’t going to be able to do them in a minute. That seemed to be just about what I could do successfully. I wound up having to stop after the 4th round of squat/ups due to my right knee. It popped on every squat and was really starting to hurt so I stopped after my situps for that round. I’m guessing I need to focus on some knee workouts to get it back into the swing of working out without hurting.
So, I’m going to try and start doing more cross-fit workouts since they’re quick and can fit into my schedule. I don’t always have the equipment I need so I will have to adapt, but that’s half the fun I guess. Its how I do my cooking so I guess its fitting that I do the same thing for my workouts.
